New members are always made welcome. If you'd like to come along for an audition in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere bring sheet music and be prepared to sing a verse and a chorus of your chosen piece. Soft shoes and comfortable clothes are also required for a movement class. We don't expect everyone to be a dancer but members are expected to be able to learn a short routine of movement. The audition is a short, informal process before a small handful of committee members - not scary at all!

Before you audition to join Theatre Guild you must be prepared to give up a LOT of free time! Our main rehearsal night is Tuesday with additional cast rehearsals on Sunday afternoons. Principals are also called on Thursday evenings. With 6 months of rehearsals (excluding July for Summer Holidays) that adds up to a lot of your personal time and a huge commitment. It's all worth it, though!!

Principal Auditions: Once you have been accepted as a member of the club we all work together for 4 weeks learning the Principal Audition pieces for the show. This gives new members a chance to get to know us and also gives everyone a chance to get to know the character parts available and to decide if they might want to audition for a principal role.

It is a requirement of the club constitution that all members who wish to be considered in the first round of principal auditions must attend at least 2 of the 4 'pre-audition rehearsals'. This is to ensure that those willing to attend rehearsals (i.e. active members) get the 'first crack at the whip'. We encourage new members to join the club and get to know us for at least a couple of weeks before they commit to a principal role!

The "Copacabana" principal auditions were held on Sunday 20 April and Tuesday 22 April at CROFTFOOT PARISH CHURCH.  Details of the audition timetable were announced at rehearsals, listed on the Copacabana page and posted on the CHAT BOARD.  Privacy and confidentiality are always a priority.  It is a requirement of the Principal auditions that annual fees (£30 / £15 for waged / unwaged playing members) are paid in advance.  The cast announcement was made by post. Auditions are by appointment only - sign up for auditions at rehearsals.

Dancers will be given a specific dance audition on Tuesday 29 April (note that those auditioning for principal roles may be required to attend the dance audition).
