36 members attended our 2007 Christmas Party at the Schottische Restaurant in the Merchant City. It was a great night with an impressive menu, super service and surprise entertainment in the form of a barbershop group who happened to be in the pub downstairs!! By an amazing coincidence, the barbershop singers were led by a former Theatre Guild MD - Eoin Miller! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos or pop over to the Video Gallery to see a clip of the barbershop boys in action! |

Our 2007 "Dirty Weekend" had a doubly DIRTY theme ... we went to a Dirty Dancing theme night in Renfrew! As ever our favourite social organiser, Karen Brown, picked a winner with a good meal followed by top chick flick themed entertainment. The Guild, as always, could be relied upon to dress for the occassion (!!) and we took our hosts by surprise with the best EVER Baby Lift to finish the night!! Karen Herbison celebrated her 40th birthday in September 07 in Sixties Style. Members from both Theatre Guild and The Lyric Club helped her celebrate by dressing appropriately and hogging the dance floor! Sounds like a typical Guild night out to me!! The BLWiT After Show Party was a great night out. The dancefloor took a pounding and we celebrated the show success with presentations to the Production Team. Thankfully photos of the 'strip show' didn't develop clearly!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos. |

The world of theatre is peppered with tradition and superstition. One of the most pleasant of these is the Theatre Guild "Thursday Night Meal". The tradition goes back to the early 80s when some of the dancers would visit a restaurant after a mid-week performance to relax, enjoy a good meal and a chat about the performances past and the shows to come. The invitation was soon extended to the whole club and it has become a popular event in the Theatre Guild social calendar! The Broons (as they are affectionately known) opened up their home to Theatre Guild and hosted our 2007 BBQ in August. It was a great night with more meat than the combined club could handle and a fair amount of the hangover juice consummed to boot! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos. |

Our 007 Casino Royale theme night in June 2007 was a big hit! Casino gaming tables, a Human Fruit Machine, a disco and buffet were all on the "cards" (ahem, Ithankyou!). Karen Brown and numerous helpers made the evening possible and the members put a lot of effort into glamourous costumes! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos. |

The cast of our Fund Raising Concert on 2nd March 2007 were in high spirits as this photo was taken at the interval of the show. Around 200 people attented the event raising a 'shedload' of cash for the club. Our thanks to our concert pianist, Norma Fingland, who stepped out of the limelight to take this photo! Our 2006 'Dirty Weekend' to Dumfries had the highest attendance ever!! This popular night featured a Beatles tribute band so our 'band' of Beatles fans decided to dress up in a 60s theme! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos. |

There were just as many smiles offstage as onstage during our production of Kiss Me Kate. If you have any more backstage photos, be sure to send a copy of them for inclusion in this slide show!! Click on the picture (left) to see more backstage fun! |

Rehearsals for our 2006 production of "Kiss Me Kate" have proved to be almost as entertaining as the show! To see some of the rehearsal fun first hand click on the picture (left). |

Our "Stars On Their @rse" night was a great event - even by our own high standards! With a quiz, a raffle, a 'bottle game' (!!) and "Whacky Waitresses" organised by Karen Brown complimented by the 'Stars' competition itself, a karaoke night and a great buffet we crammed a lot in!! The pictures tell the story! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the night. |

The Concert Crew's night out to "The Cabin" was a great laugh. As ever the night was organised by Karen Brown who somehow managed to get a booking at this popular (and tiny) restaurant. The delicious meal was followed by a sing song ... neadless to say our lot were NOT shy (and David Sturgeon knew ALL the words)!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the night. |

Suzy's (whisper it) 40th Birthday party in March was a great success. She was so happy to see so many friends there and all so beautifully presented in their "Bling Bling" outfits! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from Suzy's party. |

Our Christmas Meal at Pavarotti's Italian Restaurant in Glasgow was a great chance for many members to get back together following our production of Hello, Dolly! in September. 22 members attended on the night and many made their way to "Bunker" for a few seasonal sherrys afterwards! The night was expertly organised by Karen Brown. Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the Christmas night. |

Once again Karen Brown organised a "classic" Theatre Guild 'Dirty Weekend' in November 2005. This time a group of 20 ventured northwards to enjoy the luxury of a MacDonald Hotel break. The weekend featured a concert by "The Illegal Eagles"! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the 'Dirty Weekend'. |

Of course, great fun in the theatre inevitably led to good times out on the town! The social events during the week of "Hello, Dolly!" ranged from simple drinks after the show to a lunch, a night in a night club, a meal after the show and, of course, the AFTER SHOW PARTY. We really know how to put one of these on - we've had plenty of practice! This one featured a surprise visit from The Village People!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the after show party. |

|
The fact is that we had almost as much fun backstage during our week long run of "Hello, Dolly!" as we did on stage!! The atmosphere was excellent with a brilliant crew running things on stage and an excellent band in the pit. The corridors became an ideal spot to show off our costumes! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos. |

Rehearsals for "Hello, Dolly!" in 2005 were great fun as production team Mark, Julie and Jonathan put the club through their paces with the aim to produce the best "Hello, Dolly!" that Glasgow had ever seen. Responses from our audience seemed to suggest that we succeeded!! Click on the picture (left) to see more rehearsal photos. |

Summer 2005 BBQ |
Back in July 2005, Norma and David Fingland hosted this superb event at their home in Cambuslang. Around 30 members, friends and family attended the BBQ and karaoke evening just before we all returned to rehearsals for Hello, Dolly!. It turned out to be a good thing that their neighbours were there - otherwise those neighbours would have had a very restless night ... the karaoke machine was switched off at 2am!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the occassion. |

Concert Party Night Out(2005) |
The Concert Crew took some time to enjoy a well earned rest following their record breaking 2004/05 season of concerts. After 16 concerts earning around 450 tickets for that year's production of Hello, Dolly! and a massive £900 from a fund raiser concert they certainly deserved a night out. And in tru concert crew fashion they made the most of it!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the occassion. |

Newcastle Weekend (2004) |
Our 'Dirty Weekend' to Newcastle was a great success. 16 of us travelled in 4 cars to the North East's shopping capital. We stayed in the 3 star George Washington Hotel, forgoing the 2 golf courses to spend time in the spa and shop in the "toon cen'a". The evening's entertainment was hilarious with a very bad comedian and a fantastic magician. The night was rounded off with a great disco and the traditional hotel room party! The next day we took our delicate dispositions off to the Metro Centre for more shopping and a hearty meal before heading home! The weekend was organised by Karen Brown. Priceless! After Show Party (2004) |
As always the social calendar was bursting during the show week of Oklahoma! 2004. After show drinking went down well at Trader Joe's most nights. There was the usual call of 'table for 30' as we lunched on the Wednesday afternoon. The Thursday night saw most of the cast eating a late night meal at La Bonne Auberge and many celebrated Wilson's birthday at the Garage nightclub on the Tuesday night! But the main feature was the after show party on the Saturday night at the Buchannan Hotel. The disco and karaoke went on 'til 3 and the serious party people stayed on until 6 am! Can't say I remember much of it!! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from the Oklahoma! After Show Party. |

Oklahoma! (2004) Backstage |
Not satisfied with all the fun ONSTAGE during Oklahoma! 2004, the cast had plenty of fun BACKSTAGE too! Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from backstage during Oklahoma! (2004). |

Oklahoma! (2004) Rehearsals |
With so many lively and popular musical numbers and a great comic and dramatic script, rehearsals for Oklahoma! were great fun. Everyone got involved with dance in some way or other and this energy permeated the entire production. Comments from audiences invariably mentioned the obvious enjoyment of the cast and the quality of the overall production. Click on the picture (left) to see more photos from Oklahoma! rehearsals. |

Karaoke Night (2004) |
The Karaoke Night was our first big social function for the entire club in 2004. As well as some priceless performances we also had some great fund raiser competitions. The venue was the function suite at our regular haunt "100 Acre" and Karen Brown organised the fund raising! Click on the picture (left) to see our Karaoke shenanigans! |

Concert Crew Night Out (2004) |
The Concert Party Night Out was the first social event of 2004. The concert crew celebrated the end of another successful season of concerts at Pancho Villa (Mexican) in the Merchant City. There was the predictable quaffing of much tequilla and there were many sore heads the next day!! Click on the photo (left) to see more Concert Crew fun! |

Sweet Charity Rehearsals |
Sweet Charity is definitely a favourite among those members who performed in it. The combination of the bitter sweet story and the distinctive 60's style score with the unforgetable choreography reminisent of Bob Fosse resulted in a great show. The small cast (30) had to pull out all the stops both artistically and to sell tickets resulting a real bond between everyone involved.
