Sarah MacKay

Sarah MacKay

Sarah joined Theatre Guild in 2003 as a dancer for our production of Sweet Charity and won the role of 'Dream Laurey' in our 2004 production of Oklahoma! Prior to joining the Guild she was a member of Glasgow University Cecilian Society where she danced in productions of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and West Side Story.

She trained at the Bernadette Sloan School of Dance in Cumbernauld from the age of 3 (aw!) to 19 learning tap, modern and jazz and appearing in many displays and revues. She recently began singing lessons (she says: "after appearing in 2 musicals I thought I should at least try to learn to sing")!

Offstage Sarah recently returned to the West of Scotland after a stint as a teacher on the Black Isle! She makes her return to the Glasgow stage with Theatre Guild in our 2008 production of Barry Manilow's Copacabana

She remembers a funny theatre story: "I am ashamed to admit this but at the end of a dance show I was left in front of the curtain! Funny if your in the baby class but I was 15!!"

(Sarah's Secret: She once entered a 'Miss Rosebud' contest in Southport ... and didn't even win - bless!)
