Sharon Cartright

Sharon Cartright

Sharon, it can safely be said, is a "natural performer" but she began to train in the performing arts at the Margaret MacAuley School of Dance alongside Suzanne Lowe and Moira McLeod at the age of 5. While there she trained in Ballet, Tap, Highland, Majorette, Disco, Rock 'n' Roll and Jazz. At the age of 9 she appeared for the first time in Pantomime at the Pavillion Theatre and she returned for the next 3 years. She was a member of Pace Youth Theatre for 5 years and starred in the title role in a school Production of Calamity Jane.

She joined Theatre Guild for our production of Sweet Charity in 2003 and won the role of Gerty Cummings in our 2004 production of Oklahoma! She returned in 2005 to play Minnie Fae in Hello Dolly! and in 2007 she played Angel in our highly acclaimed production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Offstage she is famous for her ability to "sell sand to the Arabs" as a marketing manager for a vending company! But she recently changed all that to take up a course in midwifery. She also teaches dance. Her claim to fame is that she is a former girlfriend of Fame Acadamy's David Sneddon (she knew him with bucked teeth, apparently)!

Sharon married her husband Michael in Paisley on 29 December, 2004.

(Sharon's Secret: she is a published poet!! OOOOoo!)
